Program Details

BLS-CPR/AED is a comprehensive course designed to teach the students/participants, life-saving skills of respiratory and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and infants. This course trains students/participants to provide the Basic Life Support per American Heart Association (AHA) recommendation for victims of all ages, to promptly recognize cardiac arrest, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations with barrier device- bag valve mask, oxygen and to provide early use of an automated external defibrillator(AED), as part of a team and individually. This course also teaches how to relieve choking of foreign body airway obstruction (FBAO) to those who are expected to respond to emergencies in the workplace and participants will be able to describe links per AHA chain of survival. The course includes adult, child and infant rescue techniques. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive an AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare Providers CPR/AED program course completion card that is valid for two years.

  • The course is approved by the State of New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services

  • Estimated hours of instructions: 8 hours

  • You yourself will do CPR and AED on a mannequin


  • Minimum age of 18 years old
